Check out Clay James’ newest body of work entitled ‘FLY AF’ and is pretty self explanatory by the cover art, which has some of Clay James’ fliest fashion looks. Since Clay came on the indie scene in Atlanta he’s been known for his eccentric fashion taste and unique word play. The Savannah, Georgia native has been making a name for himself in the underground for quite some time and this EP is a great display of Clay’s growth as an emcee. There’s 6 tracks on this project and 5 were produced by Madness and 1 produced by G-Man On Tha Beat. This project is a perfect mesh between what the south used to be and the direction it’s going in right now. It’s nostalgic yet current, something that multiple generations will be able to relate to. Check it out on all digital streaming platforms, Spinrilla, SoundCloud, and Audiomack.

That balance between nostalgia and current southern sound is hard to pull off but Clay James nails it. Six tracks produced mostly by Madness is a solid foundation for a project like this.
The description of it being nostalgic yet current is exactly right. That balance between classic southern sound and what’s moving now is harder to pull off than it looks, and six tracks is the right length for an EP that actually gets replayed.
